We have grown up being taught to buy single-use wipes for everything under the sun, from wipes to clean our cars to make-up remover wipes. It is shocking that these sorts of chemicals are allowed to be used because where do you think they will go? They will end up in our land, our seas and will be on the food that our animals and insects eat. I think it goes without saying that these toxic chemicals not only affect the health of the creatures but also have a serious impact on the farmers that have been told to use them.

So not only do plastics intentionally get put into these wipes but chemicals that have ended up on the cotton through the farming are also in amongst these wipes and pads that you use on your skin. Plus, with these sorts of toxins in the pad and wipe they will never leave our earth and will end up back in the earth once it biodegrades.

How to care for your reusable cloth wipes and pads

Most of your reusable cloth, wipes and pads can be rinsed in cold water under the tap, using soap if required and then laundered in the washing machine. Leave to dry naturally to minimise shrinking.
