WHAT IS A TONGUE SCRAPER?

A tongue scraper, also known as a tongue tingler, is a long, thin, piece of (usually) metal that has been rounded into a "U" shape. Stainless steel, copper, and plastic are the most commonly used materials when it comes to tongue scrapers. While plastic is affordable and can be gentler on your tongue, steel or copper tend to be the more effective options.

Other believed benefits of tongue scraping include: 

• Improving your sense of taste and therefore your health, as you will be able to taste your food and drink with more intensity and so will need to add less salt and sugar to your meals.
• Removing bacteria and plaque from your tongue and therefore helping to temporarily get rid of bad breath. However, please note that you must use your tongue scraper regularly for this to last. 
• Improving your oral health, as removing this layer can help to prevent tooth decay, gum disease, cavities and many other problems.
